The Wisconsin Newspaper Association (WNA) was established in 1853 and is among the oldest press associations in the world. Created by and for Wisconsin's newspapers, WNA exists to strengthen the newspaper industry, enhance public understanding of the role of newspapers, and protect fundamental freedoms of press, speech, and the free flow of information. Supporting WNA goals is the WNA Foundation, a not-for-profit organization created in 1980 to improve the quality and future of Wisconsin's newspapers and the communities they serve. The foundation solicits, manages, and disburses funds and other resources for the benefit of Wisconsin's newspaper industry and, ultimately, the citizens of our state. WNA is the single point of contact for working with newspapers in Wisconsin. In addition to serving 223 member newspapers (31 dailies and 192 weeklies), WNA serves advertisers through advertising placement programs (Customized Newspaper Advertising) and additional clients through (news tracking and release services).

Senior Director of Retention – The Daily Beast (NYSE: IAC)

Charged with leading the strategic vision, ownership, and implementation of subscriber retention communications and tactical strategies that enhance subscriber engagement, reduce churn, and aid in the growth of subscriber database and lifetime value for The Daily Beast. Responsible for retention marketing for paid subscriptions, including performance analysis and campaign development across various platforms. Leverage experience in CRM strategies, revenue forecasting, project management, and in-depth subscriber lifecycle behavior to evaluate or revise complex business issues and onboard new initiatives in a high-velocity dynamic internet publishing environment. Reporting to the VP of Subscription and Known User Growth, accountable for developing and executing a strategy that drives retention, subscriber win-backs, and increases ARPU and LTV. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to build a retention and lifetime value marketing plan supporting subscriber and revenue growth goals.

Head of Digital Subscriber Churn – Senior Manager – Gannett | USA Today Network (NYSE: GCI)

Responsible for customer onboarding, engagement, loyalty, and churn mitigation while working closely with several stakeholders in data science, marketing, technology, analytics, customer service, and operations to develop strategies across email, onsite, and call center channels to reduce cancellations for meaningful and sustained net digital subscription growth. Leverage subscriber lifecycle marketing to plan, execute, and optimize email journeys, digital marketing campaigns, onsite assets deployment, subscriber benefits & value strategy, online experience optimization, customer service, and support communications to retain subscribers and aid Gannett in reaching a goal of 10 million net digital subscribers.

Accountable for all LPi renewal advertising marketing activity and digital strategy within the United States ($43+ mil). Responsible for a team of over 20+ individuals comprised of supervisors, advertising marketing professionals inclusive of key accounts, inside, and renewals. Digital Product Manager – Omaha World – Herald | Berkshire Hathaway Media

November 2012 – September 2015 (2 years 11 months) Greater Omaha, NE and surrounding areas

Responsible for an annual digital marketing advertising revenue budget of approximately $5 million for the Omaha World-Herald. Reported directly to the Chief Revenue Officer of BH Media, VP of Advertising, and the General Manager of the Omaha World-Herald. Duties included creating and implementing new and innovative digital products, sales calls, staff training, maintaining and adjusting digital advertising and marketing budget and developing contingency plans. Met with marketing clients of the Omaha World-Herald individually and with designated marketing sales executives in order to coach on proper marketing and sales methods. Worked extensively with marketing, news, human resources, finance and IT departments to streamline efficiency or formulate best practices for digital marketing. Worked directly with senior leadership at BH Media to introduce marketing, performance metrics, and sales practices companywide that supplemented bottom line revenue.
